3 Must Know Techniques to Heal the Throat Chakra

Being aware and learning how to heal the throat chakra is an important element to being truly expressive to who you are. Though, having a knowing that all the chakras are interconnected is one of your first steps in solving a puzzle to your every day life.  this is because all the chakras are interconnected with the endocrine system, highlighting the profound impact this relationship has on the emotional, mental, and physical aspects of your body. By focusing on one chakra at a time, you can gain deeper insights into its specific influences and how it contributes to your overall well-being.

What is the Throat Chakra

The throat chakra, also known as the Vishuddha chakra is the fifth chakra located within the chakra system found in the spinal charka C3-7. This blue color chakra plays a pivotal role in your ability to communicate effectively, both through verbal and non-verbal means, acting as the bridge for expression, communication, and living authentically.

What is the Throat Chakra Responsible For

One of the key functions of the Vishuddha chakra is its role in energy restoration through the process of detoxification, removing impurities from both the body and mind. Factors such as unhealthy food choices and exposure to polluted environments can lead to blockages within your throat chakra.

Conversely, when the Vishuddha Chakra is open and active, it significantly contributes to maintaining our health by ensuring clear communication pathways and facilitating the release of toxins, thereby preserving both physical and mental well-being.

What Causes Throat Chakra Imbalances

When the Throat Chakra becomes imbalanced, it can be due to factors that either overstimulate or deplete your energy. The specific causes of such imbalances can vary greatly from one individual to another, largely influenced by your environment and personal experiences.

To address these differences, I recommend conducting a self-assessment by reviewing a list of potential factors that might affect the Throat Chakra. This exercise involves introspection to identify which elements truly resonate with your current situation, acknowledging that what is relevant today may not necessarily apply tomorrow. Energy is dynamic and ever-changing, and so is the state of our chakras.

How to Heal the Throat Chakra

Have Good Communication with Yourself

Communication is the process of transmitting and receiving information through symbols: Written, spoken, musical patterns, omens, electrical impulses to the brain- the throat chakra carries them into data. Communication is also viewed as a symbolic system that mediates between the abstract and manifested ideas.

It's important to understand what you are feeling before you can property express what is going on internally to some one else. Journaling or recording your thoughts could be a great to way to start knowing how you feel and why you feel that way.

Throat Chakra Journal Prompts

Jounraling a great way for you to experience what the heck is going on in your mind. There is a magic transferred from your mind, your arm, hand, and onto paper. If you are some one who does not resonate with guided journal prompts right now, simply do a brain dump (free write) to dive deeper.

  1. Are you currently feeling withdrawn from yourself? Why?
  2. What do you enjoy that is creative?
  3. Do you ever experience a lack of purpose or commitment? Let's expand on this.
  4. While growing up, what was your communication like within your family? Would you consider this healthy or unhealthy? Are you doing something now, that is mirroring the past that does not resonate with you today?
  5. Do you have the ability to speak from a place that is truthful to you, not using some one else's words, thoughts or ideas?

Vow of Silence

By choosing to abstain from verbal communication, alternative pathways to connect with a higher consciousness can be uncovered. The practice of a vow of silence can sound completely hard or off putting, but trust me when I say it is obtainable because I did one lasting 17 days.

It may be easy to start with the intention of a few hours and potentially extending to a full day or more emphasizing the importance and power of silence.

When you are doing a vow of silence, listening, a frequently undervalued aspect of communication, gains prominence in the absence of spoken words. Taking a vow of silence can serve as a purification process for your auditory vibrations, allowing a finer attunement to the subtle sounds that permeate your environment, and an opportunity to listen what is really going on inside your mind, heart and body.

Vow of Silence Tips

When doing this, make a few generic note cards to help you through everyday activities.

Example:

One note card can state, " I am making this vow of silence to ____________" or " I am sorry to hear about what you are going through" or "Tell me about the best part of your day."

Feel free to make this vow to suit your needs. Meaning, if you need to go to work, talk with employees and teammates only when work-related conversations are going on, otherwise, get by with using notecards when necessary if on break and someone is talking with you. The goal is to be active listening and open the Throat Chakra.

Meditation and Breath Work

When it comes to the throat chakra we need to do a little physical movement alongside focused breathing and a quick meditation. This can be one of the most effective ways to help balance and heal the throat chakra.

Throat Chakra Kriya

A kriya means a list of set actions. Follow all the steps or simply skip to one that resonates most with you.

  1. Physical Movement with Neck Rolls
    • Roll the neck slowly in one direction and then again in the opposite direction. Allow the weight of the head move the head around. Do this very methodically so that you go slowing through tight spots and work out areas of tension. Inhale as you come down and exhale as you go back. Set a timer for a least one minute per side. Take your time.
  2. Breath Work
    • Sitting straight with a slight bend at your chin to lengthen the spine, close your eyes and focus up and in to your third eye space, the center of your forehead.
    • Stick your tongue out your mouth. If you can make a "U" or curl shape do that. Sip your breath in slowly and smoothly though the rolled tongue on your inhale.
    • Bring your tongue in and slowly and smoothly exhale out your nose.
    • You can use a mantra, like Sat Nam while doing this method. Sat on the inhale. Nam on the exhale. You can also imagine the color blue as your sip your breath inside.
    • Perform breathing technique for 3-33 minutes. At your own pace.
    • To end, squeeze all your muscles and fibers holding your breath of for a count of 10 and the exhale.
  3. Meditation
    •  Close your eyes and focus up and in at the center of your forehead, your third eye space.
    • Begin to imagine or try your best to envision the color blue. If you cannot see color, that's okay, use another sense of your that is your strength to bring the color blue into your third eye gaze.
    • Sit here for 1-2 minute breathing normally.
